Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Local Crew, Inc. ("Local Crew," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit localcrew.io (the "Site") and join our early-access waitlist. Local Crew is a video-first marketplace for local help; this Site is our pre-launch home, where you can sign up to hear when we go live.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the waitlist:

  • Information you give us. When you join as a customer or apply as a pro, we collect what you enter in our forms: your first name, ZIP code, and either an email address or a phone number, plus the kind of help you need (customers) or the skills you offer (pros).
  • Information collected automatically. Limited technical data your browser sends — such as your IP address, device and browser type, and timestamps — which we keep in server logs to keep the Site secure and working. See "Cookies and similar technologies" below.

We do not ask for payment details on this Site, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

2. How we use your information

  • To operate the waitlist and notify you when Local Crew launches in your ZIP code.
  • To review pro applications and contact applicants.
  • To send you launch and service updates by email and/or text (see the next section).
  • To protect the Site against spam, fraud, and abuse.
  • To meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Email and text messages

If you give us your email address or phone number, you are asking us to contact you about Local Crew — launch news in your area and, for pros, your application status. Message and data rates may apply to texts, and frequency varies. You can opt out at any time: reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or email us using the details below.

4. How we share information

We share personal information only in these cases:

  • Service providers who run the Site for us — currently Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database). They handle data on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.
  • Legal and safety reasons — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Local Crew, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in who controls your data.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

5. How long we keep it

We keep waitlist information until Local Crew launches in your area, and for a reasonable period afterward to help set up your account — or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires.

6. How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), database access controls (row-level security), and keeping our database credentials on the server rather than in your browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. To make a request, email support@localcrew.io, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

  • United States (California and other states with privacy laws): the right to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" — though we do not sell or share it for cross-context advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
  • Europe and the UK (GDPR): the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. We rely on your consent (launch and marketing messages), our legitimate interests (keeping the Site secure and evaluating applications), and our legal obligations as the bases for processing. You may withdraw consent at any time and complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Today the Site uses only strictly necessary storage:

  • A session cookie set by our infrastructure (Supabase) so that forms and security checks work.
  • Your browser's session storage, used once to remember that you have already seen our intro animation.

We do not currently use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some essential features may stop working.

9. Children's privacy

The Site and Local Crew are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Local Crew grows or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will post a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
